Patience

Reconstructing the concept of time and the nature of clocks

Patience is a clock which uses a human face to represent the passage of time, and aims to reimagine time recognition and conventional clock forms. Positioned within a mounted monitor, the human face on the screen replicates dials resembling an analogue clock face. The eyes work in the same way as a clock’s hands, with the right eye indicating hours and the left eye indicating minutes, whilst the mouth opens and closes to represent seconds. In a twist of irony, the framed human face reflects modern man, unconsciously bound to time by a clock.
