Vestige is a vase reflecting the past and present. A particular yet unspecified vase was scanned using a 3D scanner, and reconstructed within clear, acrylic blocks, leaving an imprint and ‘vestige’ of the original object in the new vase. The various elements involved — such as materials, technology and product modeling — reflect a symbolism of their historical timelines, and present the potential of an intimate coexistence between latest technologies and existing products.  

プロダクトに時間軸を内包させることで、最新のテクノロジーと既存のプロダクトの親密な共存関係を模索するプロジェクトです。とある花瓶を3Dスキャナーでトレースし、外観を内側の表情として再構築。アクリルを3Dプリンターで出力して外観の痕跡を閉じ込めることで、素材、技術、造形といったプロダクトを構成する多様な要素が、歴史を踏襲しながら更新されるさまを象徴的に表現しています。
