Snow is comprised of air and ice. In crystal units, it has a fragile and fleeting existence, but when it gathers, it becomes surprisingly hard and strong. Such is its conflicting nature. Heap is a chair conceived from the metamorphosis and quality of snow. By randomly stacking modules consisting of three lines, a light and organic structure is created. Since there are infinite ways to stack modules, chairs of various shapes and sizes can be made with one module as the origin unit, holding a high degree of freedom in shape and infinite possibilities of development. Heap proposes new production methods and forms of expression created from close proximity to an origin through the integration of nature.

自然界の物質のあり方を、構造として応用した椅子です。自然の力に抗わず、自然の摂理に寄り添うことから生まれる新たなものづくりのあり方、表現方法を提案しています。雪は、空気と氷でできており、結晶単位では脆くはかない存在ですが、降り積もると驚くほどにかさと強度が増します。そんな相反する性質が同居する自然のあり方に着想を得て、3本のラインで構成されたモジュールをランダムに積み重ねることで、軽やかで、形状の自由度も高い、有機的な構造体を生み出しました。モジュールの重ね方は無限に存在することから、1つのモジュールを最小単位として、さまざまなかたち・サイズの椅子がつくられます。
