KYOTO nuno nuno

KYOTO nuno nuno is a textile installation in an exhibition to celebrate the publication of NUNO - Visionary Japanese Textiles, a collection of NUNO's works. The space is composed of ten 1cubic meter rotating cubes, each surface of which is covered with a different textile, and large-format printed photographs by photographer Masayuki Hayashi. By contrasting static photographs that capture momentary expressions from a microscopic perspective with dynamic cubes whose expressions change moment by moment through rotation, the exhibition attempts to maximise the 'fluctuation' of the textiles' expressions, which continue to change depending on the viewpoint, location and time of the viewer.
